Displaced families: Who should I call to donate to displaced
families? A number of organizations are collecting donations for
Hurricane Katrina victims:

Salvation Army will accept

is accepting donations of funds and/or assistive technology devices,
wheel chairs, walkers, canes, hospital beds, potty chairs, shower
chairs, lifts

not-for-profit community based hunger relief program for profoundly
poor and hungry families. Connects sponsor families with "adopted" families
National Trust for Historic Preservation has
established the National Trust Hurricane Recovery Fund for donations earmarked
for the restoration of historic properties in areas hit by Katrina
